June Holidays~~

Hey!

Long time no see! I do hope everything is great with you guys! Do feel free to drop me an SMS or email if you need any assistance with Economics! The blog and wallwisher will still be available as lines of communication as well! :D

I understand that Market Failure isn't a simple topic to handle, especially when you are thrown into it at such a fast pace. Take time to read through the notes/textbook carefully and look for the BIG picture. Once you understand the logical flow, it is simply a matter of putting in the technical terms! :D

Anyway, the purpose for this post is to inform you guys of a short holiday homework that I would like you to do for me. So PAY ATTENTION!!

  1. You will be getting back your essays by Friday. Please look through them and write a short reflection on your essay. Include the key mistakes that you made (conceptually or technically) and what are YOUR plans to correct them.
  2. Review TWO Economics related articles of YOUR choice. These articles can come from the Internet, magazines, newspapers, etc. Please ensure that in your review, you include the topic(s) that can be associated with the article, a summary of the article and what are your views on the points raised in the article. Remember to put your Economic training to work!!
I will be collecting these work the first time I see you guys back in Term 3. I will not condone any late submissions! Don't disappoint me!!

Last but not least, ENJOY YOUR HOLIDAYS!!!

cheers~
Mr. Andy

p.s. while you enjoy, remember to study for your JCT!! :P

ECONS HOMEWORK FOR ELECTION LONG WKEND

The terrorist attack on New York on 11 September 2001 caused a world wide recession and increased fear of flying, both of which severely affected the demand for travel by air. This led to the closure of some of the major airlines in the world.
Qn) Assess the relevance of price elasticity of demand, income elasticity of demand, cross elasticity of demand and price elasticity of supply in explaining the effects of these events on the airline industry. [15]
